About Banduri Healing Arts
In the rich and varied landscape of ancient Albion (Britain), the term Celtic is often used as a modern shorthand for a wide constellation of cultures, languages, and ritual practices. Classical authors such as Pytheas, Strabo, and later Roman writers referred to the peoples of Britain as the Pritani or Pretani, a name that reflects the island’s early cultural identity long before later medieval narratives reshaped it.
Among these tribes, the Banduri held a significant place as revered female druids, pagan priestesses, and spiritual leaders. These extraordinary women were not only healers and mediators but also conduits of deep spiritual wisdom, embodying a profound connection to nature and the unseen realms.
The Banduri, as historical and mythological figures, offer a glimpse into a world where spirituality and daily life were deeply intertwined. They wielded their knowledge of the natural world, ritual practices, and spoken word to bring healing and guidance to their communities. In addition to their roles as spiritual guides, the Banduri were often described as guardians of their tribes, capable of invoking powerful word magic and fostering resilience in times of strife. While these figures are steeped in myth and historical ambiguity, they continue to inspire modern interpretations of connection, healing, and empowerment.
At Banduri Healing Arts, we honour these ancestral threads while remaining firmly rooted in modern, trauma‑informed, consent‑based practice. We do not claim to replicate ancient rites or revive lost lineages. Instead, we weave together:
nature‑based ritual
somatic awareness
energy and sound healing
reflective and symbolic practices
land‑rooted mindfulness
to create spaces where people can reconnect with their own agency, intuition, and inner strength.
Banduri Healing Arts is a non‑hierarchical, inclusive, and culturally respectful sanctuary. Our practices are adapted for contemporary seekers and grounded in clear boundaries, ethical transparency, and respect for diverse identities and lived experiences.
Here, ancient inspiration meets modern healing. Here, myth becomes a doorway rather than a claim. Here, you are invited into a grove of rest, renewal, and transformation, a place where your soul can thrive in rhythm with the land and the quiet wisdom of your own body.
